KILLEEN (January 16, 2013)—Killeen resident and breast cancer survivor Vavette Blevins could be the next Jeff Gordon.

Vavette, or “Cupcake,” was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 but that didn’t slow her down.

In fact, she’s competing in the Champion Spark Plugs “Search for a Champion” competition, a national competition that selects a race track winner based on their champion attitude on and off the track.

The contestants upload a video and the top 15 people with the highest number of votes will win $5,000 champion sponsorships each and will compete for the grand prize sponsorship of $50,000.

Voters have a chance to win a t-shirt and autographed poster of Kevin Harvick, an American NASCAR driver.

There are more than 3,000 contestants participating in the contest.

Blevins, who is still battling cancer, drives a pink 1971 Cutlass adorned with breast cancer ribbons.

She won two championship titles last year and has already developed a broad fan base.

To vote for Blevins, you must register with the contest website.

There are two rounds of voting with the first round to end on February 3.

The 15 finalists will be announced February 21.
