KILLEEN (October 30, 2012)--The City of Killeen is offering residents a safe alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
A free carnival will get underway Wednesday featuring games, arts and crafts, a haunted house, pumpkin patch and more.
Children should dress in costume and bring bags to hold their candy.
The city warns residents of costumes that could pose hazards like obstructing a child’s vision and not being flame resistant.
If trick-or-treating door-to-door residents should do so only between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and only at houses with porch lights on, a city spokesperson said.
The carnival will take place at the Special Events Center, located at 3301 South W.S. Young Drive.
