KILLEEN (March 28, 2013) --- Thursday through Saturday Killeen firefighters will be at six different intersections of the city collecting money from drivers for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during their annual Fill the Boot Campaign.

Firefighters are staged in intersections near their normal station so they can leave to respond to emergency calls if needed.

Firefighters will be collecting donations at Highway 190 and East Stan Schlueter Loop; North 10th Street and East Rancier Avenue;, W.S Young Avenue and Veterans Memorial Boulevard; Highway 190 and Trimmier Road; Highway 190 and Fort Hood Street, and at Watercrest Road and Clear Creek Road.

About 160 firefighters will take part in this year's Fill the Boot Campaign and hope to raise more than last year's total of $60,000.

All of the donations go to the MDA district office and help treat patients in Central Texas.
