KILLEEN (February 4, 2013)--In honor of National Black HIV Awareness Day the Bell County Human Services Help Center is offering free and confidential HIV testing.
From 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. the center, located at 718-B N. 2nd Street, will administer tests to the public and deliver results the same day.
National Black HIV Awareness Day was established as an HIV testing and treatment community mobilization initiative for people to get educated, tested and treated.
According to the center, recent CDC studies show a 48 percent increase in new HIV infections among black men ages 13 to 29 from 2006-09.
