KILLEEN (November 9, 2012)--The City of Killeen Housing Renewal Program assists elderly, disabled and low to moderate income residents by providing minor home repairs and handicap modifications for qualified applicants.

The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Block Program and is a partnership between local businesses, suppliers and contractors.

The minor work includes improvements to heating and air, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, insulation, flooring, wall, roofing and more.

Residents interested in the program must submit an application including documentation of income, assets and five years’ ownership and occupancy.

Assistance is given in the order in which applications are received.
