KILLEEN (January 7, 2013)—If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a police officer in your community, now is your chance.
The Killeen Police Department is hosting their 34th Citizen’s Police Academy starting in March.
Applicants will receive twelve weeks of instruction which includes presentations of various law enforcement divisions and hands-on experience of the day-to-day life of an officer.
Classes will be held Monday evenings from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. and one Saturday class will be held.
Applications are available at the police department on Community Blvd.
The deadline to apply is February 28.
Applicants will undergo a background check that includes criminal history.
There is no cost to participate.
