KILLEEN (November 8, 2012)--The Central Texas Community Veterans Day Parade will get underway on Saturday.

The parade route will begin on W. Avenue D and head north on 4th Street.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will follow a different route through downtown than in previous years because of a construction project in the area.

After heading north on 4th Street, the parade route will head to E. Avenue B to N. 8th Street before heading south.

Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure a parking spot.

1st Cavalry Division Deputy Commanding General Thomas S. James will serve as the grand marshal.

Killeen is one of four cities in Texas to be designated as a 2012 regional site for the observance of Veterans Day.
