KILLEEN (March 6, 2013)--A Killeen teenager in the Bell County Jail Wednesday, charged with burglary of a habitation in connection with the theft of hundreds of dollars in change from a Killeen home.

Anthony Charles Sajna, 17, was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bond charged with burglary of a habitation.

The burglary was reported at around 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Baumann Drive.

The resident told officers she returned home to find a window broken and the garage door open.

Inside the house she discovered that a change jar that contained $600 to $700 in coins was missing.

A teenager approached officers as they were investigating and reported that he saw someone break the window and leave the house with something in his hands.

The teen’s aunt told officers she saw a man in her backyard at about the same time as the burglary.

But an arrest warrant affidavit says police later determined that the teen who provided the information to officers had stolen the coins and had hidden them in a shed in the backyard of his aunt’s home.

The teenager also told officers that another juvenile was involved in the burglary and when officers questioned the second suspect, they found a jacket, the pockets of which were full of quarters.

Sajna was arrested on Tuesday.
