KILLEEN (May 7, 2013)—Three teenage car theft suspects ran into the parking lot of a Killeen restaurant early Tuesday afternoon following a high-speed police chase that ended abruptly when the stolen vehicle slammed into retaining wall, spun and then hit a boat that a truck was towing.

The 2011 Hyundai Sonata was reported stolen Tuesday morning from the 4400 block of Sand Dollar Drive in Killeen.

Just after noon an officer spotted the stolen car and tried to pull it over on Zephyr Road, but the driver refused to stop and sped off with police in pursuit.

Officers pursued the stolen car from Zephyr to FM 2410 to Scott & White Drive.

The chase ended when the fleeing driver went around a corner and the car hit the boat.

The three teens in the stolen car jumped out and ran across the parking lot of an Automax dealership and into the parking lot of the Jason’s Deli at 3213 East Central Texas Expressway where they tried to hide between cars.

An employee of the car dealership joined the chase and caught one of the three.

Officers found the other two hiding under parked cars.

Two 16-year-old boys, one of whom was the driver, were taken to the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.

The teenager who was driving the stolen car was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and the other was charged with evading arrest.

Xavier Jevon Reese,17, was taken to the Killeen City Jail and was charged with evading arrest or detention.

Additional charges were pending.

The names of the three teenagers were not released.

The two parking lots were closed because of the chase.

No one was injured.
