LAMPASAS (March 27, 2013)--A free workshop Thursday will focus on the Lampasas River’s water quality and availability issues.
The Texas Watershed Steward workshop will be held from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Farm Bureau building located at 1793 U.S. Hwy. 281.
“The workshop is designed to help watershed residents improve and protect their water resources by becoming involved in local watershed protection and management activities,” AgriLife Extension Agent Heath Lusty said.
The training will include a discussion of watershed systems, types and sources of water pollution.
A group discussion will also be held on community-driven watershed protection and management.
Participants will receive free training, a free copy of the Texas Watershed Steward Handbook and a certificate of completion.
A boxed sandwich lunch will be provided by the Texas Land Bank of Lampasas.
