MARLIN (November 22, 2012)--Marlin police Chief Darrell Allen was listed Thursday in serious condition at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center after he was injured last Friday in an early morning rollover accident near Marlin.
Allen was said to be improving and his condition had been upgraded from critical to serious on Wednesday, a hospital spokesman said.
The accident happened at around 2 a.m. Friday on State Highway 6 north of Marlin as Allen was driving home from an off-duty security job in Waco.
A Department of Public Safety trooper who investigated the accident said Allen lost control of his 2004 Ford Explorer near Falls County Road 121, it left the roadway and overturned several times.
Allen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, the DPS report said.
