MCGREGOR (November 20, 2012)--A McGregor man was in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday after his arrest in connection with a weekend shooting that left another man injured.
Adalberto Aguirre, 22, was ordered held on bonds totaling $50,000, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was ordered held without bond on an immigration detainer.
The shooting was the result of an argument at around 3 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 600 block of South McKinley in McGregor.
One of the men involved in the argument went into the house, came back with a high-powered air rifle and shot the other man in the hip.
McGregor police Detective Joe Coy said the projectile from the rifle is still imbedded in the victim's hip.
He said Aguirre was arrested on Sunday morning and booked into jail.
