Salado: Ceremony Celebrates 3rd Cavalry Adoption Of Local Schools

SALADO (March 29, 2013)--The 3rd Cavalry Regiment "Brave Riffles" will officially adopt Salado High School during a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday at the school.

The Ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. where Salado High School Principal Burt Smith and Lt. Col. David C. Foley will cut the ribbon in celebration of their new partnership.

The event is part of the Adopt-A-School program which assigns local schools to different Fort Hood units.

Soldiers mentor, tutor, and show leadership to support students from their adopted schools.

Salado High School is the first of the four schools in the area to be adopted by the regiment.
