SALADO (March 25, 2013)--Salado ISD is expected to name Brent Graham as the new athletic director and football head coach Monday night.
According to Superintendent Michael Novotny, Graham is the only person who will be considered at the meeting.
Graham spent the last four years at Sherman High School, a 4A school that, under his direction, made it to the football playoffs all four years.
He also served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Tulsa, a Division I school, and served as head football coach at Tom Bean High School in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Before that, beginning in 2004, he served as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for two seasons at Mesquite Poteet High School, his alma mater.
If approved, he will serve as the head football coach but Graham’s athletic ability does not end at football.
Before transferring to Tarleton State from Collin County Community College, he was recognized as a two-time all-conference performer and set several school records in baseball, Novotny said.
Graham will be replacing Glenn Talbott who resigned earlier this year.
The final approval will be made Monday night at 7 p.m. at the civic center on N. Main Street.
