TEMPLE (March 25, 2013)--Temple's Parks and Leisure Services will offer monthly cooking classes to teach teens healthy eating habits and recipes as part of their "Teen Chef" program.
The program will begin Wednesday and take place at Gober Party House at 1516 West Avenue H. from 6 p.m-8 p.m.
"Teen Chef" will be held monthly with a new theme each month, with this month's theme being springtime salads.
"No matter what them we do, we'd like to introduce health recipes for the kids," Program Coordinator Belinda Garcia said.
"It's good for them to start learning life skills at these ages," Garcia added.
The cost of the class is $12 and is available to youth ages 10-17.
For more information call (254) 298-5474.
"It just gives them a positive environment to make new friends and learn new things," Garcia said.
