TEMPLE (March 26, 2013)--The Junior League of Bell County will use interactive activities to engage McClane Children's Hospital patients by helping them create faux flower arrangements Tuesday.

“Blooming Buttons” will use junior league volunteers to help patients build these arrangements using flower pots, stems, and buttons provided by Precious Moments Florist.

“They always try to make things children can create and take back to the room,” Precious Moments Florist Owner Seleese Thompson-Mann said.

The event is part of Project S.M.I.L.E., a year-long volunteer project that participates in monthly events at McClane Children's Hospital.

“Junior league does so much for the community, anytime we can support them and the community we will,”Thompson-Mann said.

The event is part of Project Smile, which stands for Sharing Moments in Laughter and Encouragement and is sponsored by Precious Moments Florist.

“It's such a great distraction, the kids get to smile and do something that doesn't involve illness,” Thompson-Mann said.
