TEMPLE (July 13, 2012)—Police Friday identified the man who was killed when the Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck he was driving collided with a Toyota Camry Thursday night at a highway interchange in Temple as Allen Tow, 49, of Temple.
The accident happened at around 9:20 p.m. Thursday on the Highway 36 overpass over Highway 317 in Temple.
A preliminary investigation shows the pickup was westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 36 when it collided with the Camry, rolled on its roof and slid to a stop, police said.
The driver of the Camry and a passenger in the pickup survived the crash, but suffered serious injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
They were taken to Scott & White Hospital.
Tow, who was not carrying any identification, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 10 p.m.
The overpass was closed until early Friday morning while investigators gathered evidence.
