TEMPLE (November 29, 2012)—A pickup truck belonging to the City of Temple struck a 60-year-old woman who was crossing East Adam Avenue on Tuesday.
Temple police, who released details of the accident on Thursday, said the woman’s injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.
She was taken to Scott & White Hospital, but no other details about her injuries or condition were released.
The accident happened at the intersection East Adams and North 16th Street.
The woman stopped in the center turn lane to check traffic as she crossed East Adams from a private parking lot on the south side of the intersection, police said.
Meanwhile driver of the city-owned pickup, who was southbound on North 16th, had stopped at the intersection and was pulling out to turn east on East Adams just as the woman began walking again.
The truck struck the woman just outside of the turn lane.
