Temple: Schools Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday

TEMPLE (February 26, 2013)—Several Temple schools will celebrate the 109th birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss this week.

Theodor Seuss Geisel, was born March 2, 1904 and went on to write 46 children's books including the bestselling “Green Eggs and Ham,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish,” “Horton Hatches the Egg,” “Horton Hears a Who!,” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!”.

Meridith-Dunbar Elementary hosts a Dr. Seuss-themed STAAR Gazing Read—In on Friday at which several district administrators will serve as special guest readers.

Western Hills and Scott Elementary schools as well as Bethune and Dickson Early Childhood Centers will also hold Dr. Seuss celebrations and readings throughout the day.

Thornton Elementary will hold a Dr. Seuss Story Hour on Saturday.
