TEMPLE (February 14, 2013)—Temple police arrested an 18-year-old mother Wednesday evening after the father of her child was stabbed repeatedly during a late-afternoon domestic dispute.
Officers were dispatched just before 5 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the 1600 block of South 39th Street where they found the victim on the ground with serious wounds and a man who was restraining the suspected attacker.
Officers performed first aid until paramedics arrived.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, was taken to Scott & White Hospital.
Investigators determined the victim was stabbed after driving to the home with his father and the suspect’s mother to pick up the child, police said Thursday.
At some point, the suspect approached the victim’s vehicle and when the victim opened the door, she pulled a knife from her pocket and stabbed him several times before the victim’s father was able to restrain her.
Serena Luna Rodriguez, 18, of Temple, was taken to the Bell County Jail, where she remained Thursday facing an aggravated assault on a family member charge, police said.
