TEMPLE (March 1, 2013)--A Temple teenager was jailed Friday, charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop led to the discovery of two pounds of pot.
Temple police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said at around 1 a.m. Thursday officers stopped a car in the 700 block of South 1st Street, and as they spoke with the driver they noticed "an intense odor of (what they believed to be) fresh marijuana coming from inside the vehicle."
The officers searched the driver and found a small plastic bag containing what they believed to be marijuana in his pocket, and then found two large plastic bags that contained more than two pounds of marijuana in the trunk of the car.
Jerquan Keith Reed, 17, was ordered held in the Bell County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond, charged with possession of marijuana more than four ounces but less than five pounds.
