Temple: Apple A Day Event Encourages Healthy Eating

TEMPLE (October 19, 2012)—The Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Scott & White Gastroenterology, H-E-B, and the city are encouraging citizens to try an apple a day for seven days.

Three thousand apples will be given away on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at several parks throughout the city.

Knowledgeable staff members will be at each location providing information on the benefits of healthy eating and how it is easy and affordable to eat healthy.

Citizens are invited to join in at Miller Park, located at 1919 N. 1st Street, West Temple Park, located at 121 Montpark Road, Wilson Park, located at 1909 Curtis B. Elliott Drive, and Lions Park, located at 4320 Lions Park Road.

The Mayor’s Council on Physical Fitness is a community campaign that encourages citizens of all ages to maintain healthy lifestyles through regular exercise and proper nutrition.
