TEMPLE (October 19, 2012)—Temple Rotary South members will join forces with Temple Fire and Rescue on Saturday to keep citizens safe from fire.

Teams of Rotarians and firefighters will canvass specific neighborhoods checking for working smoke alarms.

Workers will offer to install a smoke alarm or replace the battery for families who do not have a working one, for no charge.

Families will receive an information packet on home fire safety.

Firefighters and Rotary members will visit two neighborhoods between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

One team will be in the neighborhood of East Barton Avenue to east Downs Avenue, between North 2nd and North 12th Street.

The second team will be in the neighborhood of Bunker Hill Drive to Saulsbury Drive, between Yorktown Drive and Betsy Ross Street.
