TEMPLE (July 11, 2012)--The Rotary Club of South Temple All Access Playground in Lions Park has a new shade structure thanks to local organizations.
The Temple Parks Foundation received a Carpenter Foundation grant of $20,000, while the Rotary Club of Temple South donated $15,000 for the structure.
In March, Summit Family Fitness Center's zumba instructors also helped raise money for the project by hosting a zumbathon.
The cost of the project was $52,365.44, installed by Grounds For Play Company of Mansfield.
Park dedication fees and operating funds will fund whatever cost is leftover, Temple Parks and Leisure Services Marketing Coordinator Kristi Sykora said.
The shade structure will cover the playground and will make it possible for children to use the equipment any time of day, Sykora said.
