WACO (May 25, 2012)—An Elm Mott volunteer firefighter was injured just after 6:30 a.m. Friday morning in a two-vehicle wreck on a busy street in Waco.
Traffic was down to one lane in each direction at Hewitt Drive and Chapel Road after a pickup truck and an SUV collided in the intersection.
The driver of the pickup, an Elm Mott firefighter, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, but his condition was not disclosed.
Police at the scene said the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe pulled out of a McDonald’s parking lot and collided with a pick up truck that was southbound on Hewitt Dr.
The driver of the Tahoe was not injured.
Officers at the scene said no citation had been issued.
