CENTERVILLE (October 29, 2012)--A Waco woman who died early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 7 just west of Centerville was driving a stolen car, the Department of Public Safety said Monday.

Roxane Lachell Dooley, 33, was driving the 2004 Nissan eastbound on Highway 7 about five miles west of Centerville when she lost control of the car, which drifted from the roadway and struck a tree.

Leon County Justice of the Peace Jack Keeling pronounced Dooley dead at the scene at around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Troopers investigating the deadly accident found an address on an ID card inside the wrecked car, but when authorities went to the home, the woman living there told them the vehicle had been stolen Saturday night, DPS Trooper D.L. Wilson said Monday.

Wilson said troopers at the scene of the crash investigated further and were able to use items they found there to identify the driver as Dooley.

Wilson said the Nissan was reported stolen late Saturday night from a home in Marlin, but there’s no indication who may have taken it.

DPS reports show Dooley lived in the 300 block of Barbara Street in Waco and was employed as a telemarketer.
