WACO (December 19, 2012)—A South Waco woman reported two men forced their way inside her home late Tuesday night looking for money then locked her inside as they made their escape.

Police were sent just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to a house in the 2400 block of Cleveland Avenue after a report of a home invasion.

The victim told officers she had been locked inside her house for almost half-an-hour before she was able to escape and go to a neighbor’s home to call police, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Swanton said the woman told investigators she heard a knock at her door late Tuesday and when she opened the door, two men, one armed with a handgun, forced their way inside and demanded her boyfriend’s money.

She said as the men made their way inside one of them told her to tell them where the money was.

The woman was alone in the house at the time of the robbery and was not injured.

She said the two men searched the house then locked her inside as they left and told her to count to 100 before she tried to get out.

Swanton said after about 25 minutes the woman left her house and went to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Police said the victim told them the men both were black and one of them was about 6-feet tall and had on a red do-rag, black Nike shoes and shades.

Officers called both crime scene and victim’s services units to the address.

Swanton did not know if anything was taken.
