WACO (March 28, 2012) -- Waco police weren't sure what caused the driver of an SUV to lose control of her vehicle, which crashed into a home Wednesday night.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday on Homan Avenue near the intersection of Bosque Boulevard and North 39th Street.

The driver evidently lost control of her SUV, which crossed the lawn, hit a fence and then slammed into the home.

After the accident, police say the driver ran to a nearby home, where the homeowners allowed her entry.

When a man who lives in the home went to assess the damage, the driver of the SUV caused some sort of disturbance with the other homeowner, which led to a fight between the two women, authorities said.

By the time police arrived, the woman was being treated for her injuries, including a gash on her head.

Police are not sure if the wounds happened because of the accident or the altercation afterward.

The women was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and is expected to be OK.
