CHINA SPRING (November 15, 2012)--China Spring Cougar Marching Band Drum Major Ashlyn Ray will march to the beat of her own drum during Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in NYC.

This will be the second year she has passed her audition.

Ashlyn was recently named Band Sweetheart by other band members and is very active in community service and teaching others about music.

The band recently returned from the UIL State Marching Contest where the China Spring Cougar Marching Band was ranked 9th in the state for their division.

Upon graduation the Ashlyn will major in music education.

Ashlyn will leave for NYC Thursday after participating in the Greater Waco Community Education Summit.
