HEWITT (November 21, 2012)--TxDOT will close Warren Street at FM 1695 (Hewitt Drive) beginning Monday.
It will not reopen until mid-January.
The closure is to allow a drainage system to be installed and an intersection to be repaved as part of a larger project which began in October.
Other improvements consist of widening the roadway to four lanes with a continuous left turn lane from Warren Street to FM 2063.
TxDOT hopes the project will increase safety and reduce road congestion.
It is slated for completion in the spring.
