WACO (August 3, 2012)—Waco police were looking for a hit-and-run driver in a damaged SUV Friday night after a teenage bicyclist was struck as he rode through a local neighborhood.

The southbound SUV struck the 17-year-old boy on the bicycle at around 4:45 p.m. Friday at the intersection of North 21st Street and Parrott Avenue.

The boy was thrown from the bike, which the SUV dragged for about a block to Colcord Avenue.

The driver didn’t stop and continued to head south on 21st Street after the accident.

The teenager was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Police didn’t have information about his condition, but said his injuries didn’t appear to be life threatening.

The SUV for which police are looking is silver and should have damage to the front right side.
