WACO (October 4, 2012)-You see glimpses on television all the time showcasing what it's like to be a big time actor. But have you ever wondered what it may be like to be a voice actor?

Central Texan Chris Griesemer has been doing it for years, but says it's a business where you hardly get any fame.

"Most people have heard me, but they have no idea who I am," Griesemer said.

Griesemer spends countless hours a day voicing cartoon work, online advertisements, and television commercials.

He's even been heard on Family Guy. In one episode, he's the voice of Ronald Reagan who confuses a local McDonald's for the Berlin Wall.

You may not think it, but Texas is a huge market for voice acting. Companies contact Griesemer for voice work and he sends them recordings.

Before meeting him for an afternoon interview, he had just finished his 20th recording for the day.

"Companies will find me, they'll send me scripts, and then give me direction," Griesemer said.

"They'll say you're going to have this character, he's 45 years old, he's a little confused, blah, blah, blah, and so here's the script go for it."

The most beautiful part about voice acting is Griesemer never has to leave his office, which just so happens to be his home.

"It's really nice to roll out of bed, put on my slippers, and do this," Griesemer said.

Chris started his career voicing at a PBS radio station in Colorado.

"I started voicing there, made some demo's, and then I just started getting jobs," Griesemer said.

Ten years later, he's doing anything from commercial work to motion captures for video games he's voiced.

"Variety is the spice of life, so I like to get out of my laire here," Griesemer said.

But being a voice actor can be demanding.

Griesemer works 7 days a week, and has to be available to voice something at any time.

But he says he can't picture himself doing anything else.

"I want to do this as long as I can. If I did this until I was 85 and someone was like you did voice over work for 70 years? I would tell them I've lived a great life."
