WACO (December 10, 2012)--A state district judge Monday sentenced a China Spring man who earlier pleaded guilty to child solicitation and child pornography charges to prison.

District Judge Ralph Strother sentenced John William Kitch, 52, to serve 10 years on each of the solicitation charges and ordered the sentences to be served concurrently.

Strother also ordered Kitch to spend 10 years of community supervision on the child pornography charge, which will begin after he completes his prison sentence.

Kitch was named on Feb. 1 in four separate indictments charging a total of 22 counts of online solicitation of a minor stemming from what authorities said were graphic web chats with who he thought were teenage girls.

The indictments charged Kitch, who was was arrested last fall after an investigation that started on Oct. 7, 2011 engaged who he thought was a 13-year-old girl in an online chat during which he made several graphic sexual comments, according to arrest warrant affidavits.

The 13-year-old girl was actually an undercover sheriff's investigator in Somervell County, the affidavits said.

During the conversation, the investigator was sent nine pornographic images, five of which were of juvenile females, the affidavit said.

On October 28, 2011, the undercover officer, a McLennan County sheriff's deputy and agents from the FBI and Secret Service, served a search warrant on Kitch's residence and seized his computers as part of an investigation of the Oct. 7 incident.

Investigators determined that on Oct. 23, Kitch, using the same screen name that was used on Oct. 7, engaged in graphic online chats with three people who identified themselves as teenage girls ages 13, 15, and 16, telling one of them, "I would love to get your sexy little body in bed," and asked another if she would like to be stripped "down to just your cute socks," the affidavit said.
