WACO (February 5, 2014) Milton Lewis Anglin, 68, of China Spring, who’s charged in the robbery of a bank in the Waco suburb, remains in custody after an initial appearance Wednesday before a U.S. magistrate.

Jeffrey C. Manske ordered Anglin to remain in federal custody pending an arraignment hearing and he appointed Waco attorney Russ Hunt, Sr., to represent Anglin.

Anglin has been held in the McLennan County Jail without bond since he was arrested Monday at his home on Links Drive in China Spring in connection with the holdup.

The First National Bank of Central Texas at the intersection of Wortham Bend Road and China Spring Road was robbed at around 6 p.m. on Friday.

The robber, who was wearing a ski mask and glasses and was carrying, but did not display, a black handgun, escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white four-door sedan.

He was last seen headed toward the residential area behind the bank, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

No one was hurt.
