WACO (February 24, 2014) Authorities have issued a class-C misdemeanor citation charging assault/physical contact to Natalio Jimenez Rubio, 21, in connection with one of two incidents in which women were accosted last month in Cameron Park, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Monday.
Police also issued a criminal trespass warning barring Rubio from the park, Swanton said.
The citation stems from an incident on Jan .28, when a man approached a woman who was jogging alone on trails north of Jacob’s Ladder and touched her inappropriately, Swanton said.
The man fled when another jogger started down the trail, he said.
As the woman was leaving the area, she saw the man again near Jacob’s Ladder in an area of the park along the Brazos River just west of Herring Avenue.
She later called police.
The second incident occurred the next day in the same area when a man approached another woman who was walking, motioned for her, and then put his hands into his pants, Swanton said.
The woman contacted a park ranger who called police.
A patrol officer stopped Rubio a few blocks from the park after the second incident, Swanton said.
Neither woman was physically harmed.
