Man Stabbed To Death After Argument Outside Local Club Identified

WACO (October 15, 2012)—Police Monday identified the man who was stabbed to death after an argument in the parking lot of a local nightclub as Anthony Levell Degrate, 24, of Waco.

Degrate died early Tuesday morning at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center after he was stabbed several times in the upper torso following an argument that started at around 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Club Alazan at 6512 West Waco Dr.

On Sunday police said the stabbing was the result of a disturbance that started inside the club and spilled into the parking lot, but Monday said the argument started in the parking lot between Degrate, who was a passenger in one vehicle, and a man who was riding in a second vehicle.

The two vehicles pulled out of the parking lot and onto the Highway 84 access road where they both stopped at a red light.

While stopped, a man got out of the second vehicle and approached the vehicle in which Degrate was riding.

Degrate got out and the two men began to fight, police said.

After Degrate was stabbed, the other man ran back to his vehicle and fled, police said.

Officers found Degrate lying in the road in the 6400 block of West Waco Drive.

An autopsy was ordered.

No one has been arrested, police said Monday.
