Man Walking Home From Local H-E-B Store Assaulted, Robbed

WACO (February 6, 2014) Police were investigating Thursday after a man who was walking home from a shopping trip Wednesday night to a North Waco H-E-B store was attacked and robbed of his groceries.

At around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the victim man was carrying his groceries back to his apartment, which is near the H-E-B store on Wooded Acres Drive, when he was approached by four men, one of whom slapped him and knocked him to the ground, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

The man told police the four men took his bags of groceries and left the area on foot.

The victim did not require medical attention, Swanton said.

Swanton said the four men were black, in their late teens to early 20s, all tall and slender.
