WACO (February 6, 2014) Waco police arrested one man overnight and seized a significant amount of what they called high-grade hydroponically grown marijuana.

Officers located the growing operation at 1909 South 12th Street Apt. A in South Waco during an investigation, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Russell Allen Attwood, 21, was arrested at the scene and taken to the McLennan County Jail where he was ordered held in lieu of $1,000 bond, charged with possession of marijuana more than two ounces but less than four ounces, a jail records clerk said.

Police seized 10 marijuana plants, an additional 40 grams of marijuana, scales, marijuana pipes and two bongs and several Adderall tablets, Swanton said.

Officers from the department's Drug Enforcement Unit also were sent to the scene to assist in the investigation.

Officers described the operation as a "sophisticated grow" because the plants were well cared for and the growing system used involved fertilizer, heat lamps and a watering system, Swanton said.
