ROBINSON (December 5, 2012)--Several items were approved during Tuesday's Robinson City Council meeting.
$10,000,000 will be spent on water improvements alone after approval of the Sale of Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation Series 2012.
These improvements include the construction of a 1 million-gallon elevated storage tower along I35 at Loop 340 as well as other water improvements around the city.
Council members also approved a street construction strategy that will affect all city streets and provide for smoother surfaces.
Resurfacing is set to begin in the spring of 2013.
In other business, the council approved the finalization process for the construction of a new fire station along Strauss Drive next to the police department. Agreements still need to be reached between the city and volunteer fire department, a city spokesperson said.
The current fire station was built in 1955.
Work on that project is slated for 2013.
