(November 7, 2012)--The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System will commemorate veterans Friday with two ceremonies.
At the Waco center on Memorial Drive, U.S. Rep. Bill Flores will be the keynote speaker and the Connally band and ROTC will provide the music and color guard.
At the center on Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Temple, III Armored Corps and Fort Hood Deputy Commanding General (Canada) Brigadier General D.J. Milner will be the speaker.
The Holland High School band will perform a selection of patriotic songs and American Legion Post #55 will provide the color guard and a 21-gun salute.
Family and friends of veterans will be placing wreaths and flowers on the granite memorials at both locations and Magan Gackle from Baylor University will perform musical selections at both ceremonies.
Waco’s event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be held at the Stracke Auditorium in the event of inclement weather.
Temple’s event will begin at 11 a.m. and will be held at the Primary Care Clinic Lobby in the event of inclement weather.
All veterans are invited to attend and are encouraged to wear their uniform and medals.
Medals may be worn on civilian clothing over the left breast.
