WACO (November 1, 2012)--Waco police arrested a man early Wednesday morning after officers chased a pickup truck from the Baylor area to East Waco before the driver finally stopped.

Allen Durane Foster, 51, was ordered held in lieu of a $5,000 bond, charged with evading arrest in a vehicle.

Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton at around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday officers saw a driver fail to stop at a stop sign at South 5th Street and Dutton Avenue.

The patrol officers attempted to get the driver of the pickup truck to stop, but he refused to do so.

Police continued their pursuit to an area on Martin Luther Kind Boulevard, where the driver finally stopped.

Officers found three bicycles in the bed of the truck that the driver was not able to explain.

Police arrested the man for evading and seized the bicycles "to prevent the consequences of theft," Swanton said.

While police believe the bicycles were stolen, they must prove the theft before any additional charges can be filed.

Swanton said police are investigating and trying to find the bicycle's owners to see if they were reported stolen.
