Waco: City To Host Public Meeting On Homelessness

WACO (February 14, 2014) Waco’s Housing and Community Development team hosts a brunch and community meeting on Feb. 25 to report on the progress that’s been made in the effort to end chronic homelessness in the city.

More than 170 community leaders including the mayor and city council members have been invited to attending the meeting, during which housing and homelessness professionals will provide an update on the Mayor’s 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness, which was created in 2005.

Since the plan was implemented, the number of people living on the city’s streets has dropped from 600 to 295 and the number identified as chronically homeless has dropped from 97 to 30.
