WACO (November 15, 2012)—An 18-year-old who caught a ride with his mother late Thursday afternoon to meet up with a “friend of a friend” to buy “a set of wheels” ended up getting robbed instead.

The teenager met the man at a convenience store at North 18th and Colcord Avenue.

The man told the teen him to follow him to a house in the 2300 block of Ethel Avenue.

The man got into a tan Buick in which two others were riding and led the teenager and his mother to the house where he pulled out a gun and demanded the teen’s money.

The robber and his two companions drove off and the teenager and his mother called police.

The three men in the Buick were all wearing red hooded sweatshirts, but no other descriptions were available Thursday night.

The residents of the house on Ethel said they didn't know anything about the robbery and had no connection to the incident.
