WACO (August 6, 2014) Joe Louis Allen, 35, was named Wednesday in an indictment charging him with the October 3, 2013 aggravated robbery of a man in an apartment complex parking lot.

Allen is free on $30,000 bond on the charge.

At around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, a man was driving into the parking lot at the Brazos Village Apartments, at 2525 Lake Shore Drive, when another man he knew flagged him down.

The victim, who was on the way to visit his children, told police the man asked to take a ride and the victim complied.

As the man got into the victim's car, he pulled out a pistol and demanded the victim's money and the keys to his car, Waco police Officer Steve Anderson said.

After driving around for a time the victim was taken back to the apartments and the gunman forced the victim out of the red Mercedes.

On Oct. 7, 2013, police found the stolen car abandoned in the 2100 block of Gurley Lane.
