WACO (January 28, 2013)--A Waco man was held Monday in the McLennan County Jail charged with burglary of a habitation and assault family violence.
McLennan County Jail records showed Renard Glen Vaughn, 32, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $253,000 and was awaiting additional bond on two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said officers were sent at around 5 a.m. Sunday to an address in the 600 block of Garland Street after a woman reported her ex-boyfriend had come into her house uninvited and assaulted her.
Swanton said the police report showed the victim was struck in the face as she lay in her bed.
Officers who were investigating the incident soon found a man who fit the description of the attacker driving around the neighborhood, stopped him and placed him under arrest.
