WACO (February 18, 2013)--A Waco man was sentenced to 10 years deferred probation Monday in 19th State District Court after he pleaded guilty earlier to indecency with a child by exposure.
Judge Ralph Strother sentenced John Edward Butcher, 30, to serve 10 years on deferred probation.
Butcher was arrested in September 2011 after Waco police obtained a warrant for him stemming from a Child Protective Services investigation, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
CPS investigators determined after interviews that a man had shown images of pornography to two young girls at a home in north Waco.
Police interviewed Butcher at his arrested and seized a computer and hard drive from his home, on which they found several images of pornography.
Butcher originally was arrested for possession of child pornography but after further investigation the charge was changed to indecency by exposure.
If Butcher completes his probation without incident, he will not have a record of the conviction.
