Waco: Officers Foil Home Break-In

WACO (February 11, 2014) Waco police made two arrests Tuesday after responding to a report of a home burglary.

A neighbor reported the break-in at around noon at 2200 Proctor Ave., after she saw two men entered the rear of the residence, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

When officers arrived, they surrounded the house and one went to the front door, Swanton said.

One of the two men broke out a window, escaped from the house and ran, but officers caught up with him several blocks away, Swanton said.

Officers found the other man hiding in the house, Swanton said.

Kevin Watson, 29, and Kelvin Brown, 25, were taken to the McLennan County Jail, Swanton said.

Watson was released from the jail at 6 a.m. Tuesday on unrelated charges, Swanton said.

Brown was wanted on multiple burglary of a habitation, theft and traffic warrants, Swanton said.

They were both facing burglary of a habitation charges Tuesday evening.
