WACO (February 28, 2013)--Christopher Michael Sandoval, 37, was held Thursday in the McLennan County Jail charged with kidnapping in an incident in which a woman was forced to ride around town.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said a 31-year-old woman notified police on Feb. 10 that a man had forced her to get into her car with him in South Waco and then accompany him on a drive around the city.
Swanton said the woman knew the man, but said she did not want to go with him and she was forced to go against her will.
The man drove the woman's car to China Spring, and then turned around and came back into Waco.
When the two reached the area of North 34th Street and Hillcrest Drive, the woman convinced the man to stop and give her back her keys.
The man threw her keys at her and ran from the scene.
The woman drove home, then to the police department and reported the incident.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Sandoval and he was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
Sandoval was held Thursday in the McLennan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
The woman was not injured during the incident.
