A 44-year-old man was jailed Thursday after a loaded high-capacity handgun magazine was found in his car and drugs were found in his apartment following a traffic stop.

WACO (July 31, 2014) A Waco man was jailed Thursday after a loaded high-capacity handgun magazine was found in his car and drugs were found in his apartment following a traffic stop.

Willie Rivers, Jr., 44, was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000, charged with possession of marijuana more than 5 pounds in a drug free zone and possession of a firearm by a felon, online jail records showed.

Rivers was stopped by Waco patrol officers around mid-afternoon on Wednesday in South Waco and during the stop police found a high capacity, loaded .40-caliber handgun magazine in his vehicle, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

The officers took Rivers to his apartment in the 1100 block of Cleveland where they found more than 5 pounds of marijuana, Swanton said.
