WACO (February 11, 2014) Baylor students, faculty and staff received alerts Tuesday about possible gunfire near campus, but the report proved to be unfounded.
Baylor spokeswoman Lori Fogleman said alerts were sent out at 1:50 p.m. after someone reported hearing gunfire near South 3rd Street and LaSalle Avenue.
Baylor officers were sent to the area and investigated the report but were unable to find any evidence of gunshots.
An all clear text was sent at 2:03 p.m.
Tuesday afternoon's incident marks the fourth time since January 29 that shots have been reported on or near the Baylor campus.
The most recent incident before today’s was Monday afternoon.
